![]() Steve MurphyPhysics teacher Steve Murphy has been perfecting a creative learning environment for over a decade. As an advocate of engaging technology, he has created an atmosphere so that students not only learn, they develop a passion for physics. He has been an active member of the American Association of Physics Teachers for 12 years. During this time he has attended over 25 workshops to learn the most effective physics teaching techniques. He has a strong conviction that everyone can understand and enjoy learning physics. In 2005 he was awarded the Outstanding Educator award by the parents and students of the International Community School, one of the top performing schools in the state of Washington. He has taught conceptual, college prep, honors, IB and AP physics. Prior to his teaching career, he worked 13 years an electrical engineer. He managed 40 engineers and technicians during the building and testing of the NASA Mars Observer spacecraft. He performed his engineering undergraduate work at Michigan State University and his Masters Degree in Science Education work at Rutgers University. |
